What to Expect

So, you're thinking of booking a session with me? What is going to happen?

Firstly, I know that if you like the look of my images and have had recommendations from friends and family, you're in the right place. This is what I do and you're in capable hands!

I have come up with a few bits of information below to get you started but please get in touch with any specific questions!

Outdoor Sessions

Outdoor sessions are perfect for high energy pups and kids and for capturing their relationship with nature.

These sessions allow us to capture a greater range of running images as well which adds to the character.

Studio Sessions

Studio sessions are a great way to obtain the 'classic portrait'. Your pets or kids don't need to be low energy or great at sitting still for these sessions, I'm used to it all!

This shows four separate images being amalgamated into one to produce mind blowing images!

Does your dog need to be perfectly trained?

No! Certainly not!

Most of our outdoor images are produced with the dogs on lead and the lead is removed with post process magic. I love capturing them doing what they do best - being dogs. I also love getting running shots as well as the posed ones. A sit and stay command certainly helps but is by no means necessary!

I can easily remove peple and leads from images like this one so we don't need to worry about off lead dogs!

How to choose what looks best?

We get a lot of questions on what to wear for a session so here are a few tips. Firstly, keep it simple! Plain works far better than patterned in my opinion as it is less distracting to the eye and doesn't take anything away from the image. Likewise, logos aren't a good idea because not only does it catch the eye, it might not be what you want to look at in ten years time when this artwork still has pride of place on your walls. Pastel colours work better than bright, eye catching colours but you are unique... show it!

When it comes to pets, put them in their prettiest collar or maybe take it off if they're in the studio or great off lead? We can always use a slip lead to keep them where we want them if you wanted the 'natural' look. Please note that harnesses cannot be removed in post but if they are what your pup always wears - let's capture it!

For little ones, I love classic! Rolled up trousers or jeans and braces, little dresses and cute, subtle bows - they all work!

No problem! I can still capture that bond!

I often hear that the grown ups don't want their photo taken and that it's all about the kids or the pets - I totally understand and respect this - I'm the same! Because of this, I have found ways around it!

Firstly, I would always encourage diving into a few photos on the day. When you come back for your purchase appointment to view the images, you don't have to choose those ones - you might just look great though!

Secondly, I have a number of ways of capturing the bond between you and your child or pet without your face or body being in the images! Check out some examples above... We can get your feet, your hands or your back in the images. This is clearly you to those that know you and you'll be reminded of the closeness every time you look at your chosen artwork.
